Plans have been filed with the City of Los Angeles to construct another mixed-use development near Sawtelle Boulevard.
The latest project, proposed to replace a gas station at 11261 W. Santa Monica Boulevard, would consist of a six-story building featuring 119 dwelling units - including 17 affordable apartments - above parking for 135 vehicles.
The entitlement request comes through the City's Transit Oriented Communities program, which allows for relief from certain zoning restrictions to projects that provide affordable housing.
Recent years have brought a string of similar mid-rise apartment buildings to Santa Monica Boulevard, with work now underway for a similar multifamily residential complex three blocks west at the former site of the Dolores Restaurant.
Sawtelle Boulevard to the south has also seen the construction of several new apartment buildings, highlighted by a four-story development rising at La Grange Avenue.
