At long last, construction is complete for the Historic Core's Topaz apartments. 

The seven-story development, which spans between Main and Los Angeles Streets to the north of 6th Street, features 159 rental units above 23,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space.  It offers a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom units, as well as amenities such as a fitness center, a swimming pool, and a central courtyard. 

The building was designed by Tate Snyder Kimsey, with a blade sign along Main Street that evokes similar signage seen throughout the Historic Core, and an "urban window" with a light screen facing Los Angeles Street.

Jade Enterprises, which owns numerous properties throughout Downtown, developed Topaz.

The project is one of the first ground-up developments to come to the Historic Core in several years, and could be joined by a proposed 38-story apartment tower across the street, which would rise on a parking lot at the southwest corner of 6th and Main Streets.

Another parking lot located at the northwest corner of the intersection, which is being sold to a trio of local developers, could be assigned up to 130,000 square feet of air rights to facilitate a new development on the property.
