A local real estate firm hopes to redevelop a series of early 20th century buildings in Silver Lake with a mid-rise apartment complex.

Last week, California Landmark Group submitted an application to the City of Los Angeles to construct a six-story building at the northwest corner of Myra Avenue and Effie Street that would feature 100 apartments through the Transit Oriented Communities guidelines - which allows projects to exceed height and density restrictions when providing affordable housing.  The proposed development would also incorporate 50 automobile parking spaces within a ground-floor garage.

Additional details regarding the project are currently unclear.

CLG has built similar multifamily residential developments throughout the City of Los Angeles, with two projects currently taking shape in Del Rey, and another recently completed in Palms.  CLG has also turned to the Transit Oriented Communities guidelines to increase the total number of apartments at its four-story development currently under construction in the Sawtelle neighborhood.
