After three years of construction, move-ins are finally underway at CIRCA, a high-rise apartment complex across the street from Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles.
Located on a 2.7-acre site at 1200 S. Figueroa Street, the twin 35-story buildings featuring 648 luxury apartments which are built to condo specifications. The mix of one- and two-bedroom dwellings - as well as three-bedroom penthouse - range between 600 square feet and 4,000 square feet, with rents between $3,000 per month and $25,000 per month.
Harley Ellis Devereaux served as the CIRCA's lead architect, joined by a team that included HansonLA and LRM Landscape Architecture. The elliptical footprints of the towers are unique among recent Downtown tower developments.
CIRCA's glass towers rise above an eight-story podium, capped with an amenity deck that includes two swimming pools, dog parks, and a fitness center. Approximately 48,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space line's the project's ground-level, fronting Figueroa, 12th Street, and Flower Street.
The podium, which features approximately 2,000 parking spaces within, is obscured from view by over 30,000 square feet of LED and static signage. The digital screens, which face Figueroa Street, were first activated in March of this year.
Circa - which was developed by Hankey Investment Company, Falcon California Investments, and Jamison Services, Inc. - joins a handful of recent tower developments that have risen around Metro's Pico Station, including the nearby Hope + Flower complex and Oceanwide Plaza.
