A $100-million development featuring apartments and retail is now taking shape near the Northridge Fashion Center.
The project, which comes from Orange County-based Shea Properties, encompasses a long-empty 6.9-acre lot at Nordhoff Street and Corbin Avenue. The pair of six-story buildings now under construction will feature 429 residential units, with 21,000 square feet of commercial space planned both at the foot of the new apartments and in standalone structures.
Parking for 1,000 vehicles would be provided to serve both residents and commercial tenants.
KTGY Architecture + Planning is designing the project, which is portrayed with a contemporary look. A site plan shows that its twin buildings would both feature wood-frame construction wrapping around podium-level amenity decks
