Two years after breaking ground, Los Angeles-based real estate firm Uncommon is making slow, steady progress in its construction of 24, a mixed-use campus in Chatsworth.

The centerpiece of the development, which is located at the intersection of Winnetka Avenue and Prairie Street, will be the new headquarters of MGA Entertainment, maker of the popular Bratz dolls.  The toymaker will occupy a portion of a hulking 255,000-square-foot building, a former Los Angeles Times printing plant that is being repurposed as offices.

On acres of surface parking lots that once wrapped the printing plant, Uncommon is now building out the wood frames of a collection of new apartment buildings.  A full buildout of the community will create 660 dwelling units, lined with shops and restaurants at the ground level.

Per KFA Architecture's master plan for the property, the project will also feature amenities such as a gym, two swimming pools, a sports park, community gardens, a preschool, a yoga studio, an amphitheater, and outdoor walking paths.

Uncommon's other ongoing projects include a proposed 52-unit apartment complex in Frogtown.
