It has been almost two years since Woodridge Capital Partners began construction on their $2.5-Billion New Century Plaza development. With four cranes and a bevy of workers on site, the project continues to move full steam ahead since our last update.
Two 46-story towers, located at 2025 Avenue of the Stars, will house a combined 300 luxury condominiums once completed. Architecture firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners designed the twin towers, which are fashioned in the shape of Reuleaux triangles - a nod to the design of the iconic Century Plaza office towers across the street.
Right next to the towers, the historic Century Plaza Hotel is undergoing a full refurbishment and will transform into a 400-key Fairmont Hotel. It will include 63 condominiums on the upper floors, as well as 93,000 square feet of commercial space. Gensler and Marmol Radziner designed the 16-story adaptive reuse structure, building upon Minoru Yamasaki's original design.
The project also includes multiple open space amenities including plazas, water features, and landscaped courtyards, designed by Rios Clementi Hale Studios.
Harley Ellis Devereaux is serving as the architect of record for the residential portion of the two high rise towers, podium and hotel.
Completion of the New Century Plaza hotel redevelopment is expected in 2019, with the towers following after.
