Earlier this month, Los Angeles County officials and the Los Angeles Neighborhood Land Trust held an official groundbreaking ceremony for Wishing Tree Park, an eight-acre green space that will span a former industrial site in unincorporated West Carson. 

The project, which is being built at a cost of $10-million, will feature:

  • a picnic area;
  • a basketball court;
  • two futsal courts;
  • a baseball field;
  • a walking path;
  • a hardscape plaza and;
  • a parking lot.

The Daily Breeze reports that construction of Wishing Tree Park is expected to be complete by Spring 2020.
