The concrete frame of a mixed-use office and retail building is now taking shape in West Hollywood.
The project, which is being developed by local property owner Michael Talla, is located on a previously vacant lot at 8550 Santa Monica Boulevard. Plans call for a three-story edifice featuring a 25,000-square-foot Sprouts Market and a 1,500-square-foot cafe, capped by 16,000 square feet of creative offices on the second floor and parking at the roof level.
DLR Group is designing the low-rise structure, which will feature exterior finishes including board-form concrete and metal rain screens. The design also incorporates planters at is upper level to provide rainwater filtration, as well as other water- and energy-efficient features.
Completion is on pace to occur in 2019.
Across the street at 8555 Santa Monica Boulevard, local developer Soto Capital is planning to redevelop a series of small commercial and residential buildings with a four-to-five-story structure featuring apartments, offices, and ground-floor retail.
