Last week, the Long Beach Planning Commission signed off on plans for an office campus near the 405 Freeway that will become the corporate headquarters of software company Laserfiche.
The campus, designed by Studio One Eleven, will rise from a two-acre site at 3443 Long Beach Boulevard in the Bixby Knolls community that was once used for oil drilling. Plans call for a four-story, approximately 100,000-square-foot office building, as well as a detached three-story parking structure with space for 343 vehicles.
“Laserfiche is entering an era of accelerated innovation, which requires workforce growth and the evolution of our headquarters to align with our visionary products,” said Laserfiche Chairman and CEO Chris Wacker in a statement. “We are committed to continued investment in Long Beach, and look forward to bringing hundreds of well-paying tech jobs to the city.”
The design for the new Laserfiche headquarters is inspired by Mid-Century Modern architecture, reflecting the style and massing of nearby structures. The building's service core will be shifted to its western edge, allowing for more contiguous space and blocking western solar heat gain. The project is being designed to achieve LEED and WELL Gold Certification.
Urbana Development, a Long Beach-based real estate firm which is developing the Laserfiche headquarters, expects to complete construction in 2021. The new headquarters will accommodate the company's future growth; Laserfiche expects to double its workforce from 300 to 600 employees by the year 2025.
