New permanent supportive housing could be coming to a property near the 110 and 105 Freeways in South Los Angeles.
Yesterday, Affirmed Housing filed plans with the City of Los Angeles to redevelop an approximately 12,500-square-foot site at 12003 S. Main Street. Plans call for replacing the existing four-story, four-unit building with a five-story edifice containing 56 units of permanent supportive housing, with a surface parking lot to be located in the rear.
Requested entitlements for the project come through the Transit Oriented Communities guidelines, including a height increases and reductions to required open space.
Affirmed Housing is one of several developers bringing permanent supportive housing to South Los Angeles. Also planned near the juncture of the 110 and the 105 is a 54-unit development known as Isla Vista, which would be built out of shipping containers.
Affirmed Housing is also developing a 54-unit affordable apartment building in the Westlake neighborhood.
