A year after breaking ground in Santa Monica, a mixed-use apartment complex from Century West Partners continues to rise at Lincoln Boulevard and Colorado Avenue.
The five-story building now under construction at 1601 Lincoln Boulevard will feature 90 apartments above 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and 168 parking spaces on two basement levels. It is the first phase of a two-building project called The Lincoln Boulevard collection that will eventually consist of 280 total apartments.
Michael W. Folonis architects is designing the podium-type building, which will feature a double-height plaza at the corner of Lincoln and Colorado and a central amenity deck.
The project site is surrounded by several similar mixed-use projects that are either under construction or have recently been completed, including a 100-unit development from WS Communities, a 66-unit building from Cypress Equities, and the 64-unit affordable apartment complex known as The Arroyo.
Across the street, a 98-unit development is also planned to replace a commercial building at 1650 Lincoln Boulevard.
