Los Angeles-based developer MCAP Partners has filed plans to construct another multifamily residential development in Hollywood.
The Orange Flats development, slated for two parcels at 1130-1134 N. Orange Drive, calls for the construction of a five-story building featuring 24 one- and two-bedroom dwellings. The proposed units would range between 600 and 1,650 square feet in size, and provide access to amenities including a screening room and rooftop decks.
R&A Architecture + Design is designing the project, which would use a series of step backs along the southern property line to create private terrace decks. The building - which would be clad with cement boards, porcelain tile, and perforated metal screens - features a shifting mass that tilts 15 degrees per floor, giving it a twisted appearance when seen from above.
Construction is anticipated to occur over approximately 22 months, starting in October 2019.
The Orange Flats will sit directly between Sol Hollywood, a new development of 24 small lot homes, and the site of a 231-unit apartment complex from Onni Group that recently began construction.
MCAP Partners is also planning a 13-story, 105-unit apartment tower a short distance south on Santa Monica Boulevard. That project is being designed by Steinberg Hart.
