Affordable housing could replace an auto body repair shop and a single-family home in Panorama City, according to an initial study published yesterday by the Los Angeles Planning Department.
The Talisa Apartments, slated for a property at 9502 Van Nuys Boulevard, calls for the construction of a four-story building featuring 49 one- and two-bedroom dwellings atop a 30-car parking podium. The apartments would be priced for very low- and extremely low-income households, with the exception of a mandatory manager's unit.
Though no renderings are provided in the initial study, the project's design is described as featuring courtyard spaces with covered walkways, and amenities including conference space and a staff lounge.
A construction timeline is not stated.
The project, which comes from Domus Development, replaces an earlier market-rate apartment complex slated for the same property.
Domus is also behind plans for a senior affordable development in Echo Park.
