Earier this week, plans were filed with the City of Los Angeles for a new mixed-use complex near the busy Wilshire/Vermont Metro station.
The project, which is being developed by local real estate firm Century West Partners, would rise from an approximately .8-acre property at 621-643 South Vermont Avenue. Plans call for a seven-story structure, featuring 173 apartments, 12,000 square feet of commercial floor area and a 234-car parking garage. Proposed amenities include an on-site conference room, a fitness center and an outdoor pool and sun deck. Each unit would come complete with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, high-speed internet and a washer-dryer set.
621 Vermont would become the third Koreatown project for Century West Partners, which is closely related to the Chicago's Fifield Companies. The Los Angeles-based developer is already in the midst of construction on similar residential complexes nearby, including the partially-finished K2LA apartments and a new project which recently broke ground at the intersection of 6th Street and Virgil Avenue.
Century West's latest development would be bordered to the north by a similar mixed-use complex slated to house the long awaited Korean American National Museum. Both properties are currently developed with standalone retail structures and associated surface parking.
