Construction has nearly topped out at the 649 Lofts, a $27-million permanent supportive housing development in Downtown Los Angeles. 

The Measure HHH-funded project, which broke ground in early 2018 at the intersection of 7th and Wall Streets, is being built by Skid Row Housing Trust and designed by architects at Abode Communities.  The seven-story building will offer 47 studio apartments - reserved for formerly homeless persons making at or below 30 and 50 percent of the area median income - with monthly rents between $473 and $788 per month.

The 649 Lofts will also feature a 25,000-square-foot on-site clinic, which will be operated by Los Angeles Christian Health Centers.

At the time of the project's groundbreaking, completion was anticipated in late 2019.

Skid Row Housing Trust recently broke ground on a larger project across the street - the 98-unit Flor 401 development - which will serve a similar population to the 649 Lofts.
