A Culver City-based developer of affordable housing has taken a step forward with plans to construct a new apartment complex in Westlake, according to a motion introduced yesterday by Los Angeles City Councilmember Gil Cedillo.
In June 2018, Decro Corporation submitted an application to the Department of City Planning to redevelop three parcels at 418-430 Firmin Court with a new building featuring 63 units of affordable housing and one manager's apartment. The project is being developed in partnership with Innovative Housing Opportunities, Inc., with on-site services to be provided by St. Joseph Center, according to the Decro website.
A rendering depicts the project as a six-story Spanish Colonial Revival building.
Per the motion introduced by Cedillo, Decro has requested that the City of Los Angeles issue $27.1 million in multifamily housing revenue bonds to finance Firmin Court. A hearing has already been conducted as part of the application process.
The request has been agendized for consideration at the July 11 meeting of the Los Angeles City Council.
Decro Corporation is also developing a mixed-use complex in Lincoln Heights featuring 97 affordable housing units and commercial space.
