New renderings have emerged for Broadway Palace, an immense residential-retail complex currently under construction in Downtown Los Angeles.
A marketing brochure from Colliers International has revealed that the completed development will feature approximately 36,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space, divided between two buildings on opposite sides of Olympic Boulevard.
The first, a six-story edifice at 1026 South Broadway, is scheduled for completion in 2016. The low-rise building will contain 240 apartments and 15,900 square feet of retail space along Broadway and Olympic Boulevard. The building's main street frontage will consist of creative office space.
The second component, located slightly north at 938 South Broadway, broke ground this past March and is slated for delivery in 2017. Plans call for 439 apartments within this phase of the development, situated in a concrete-framed 10-story structure along Broadway and a wood-framed six story structure along Main Street. Like its phase one counterpart, the building will feature retail space along Broadway and Olympic Boulevard, and creative office space along Main Street.
The project is being developed by Geoffrey H. Palmer, a prominent builder of low-rise residential complexes in the City West neighborhood. Broadway Palace, with a design that mimics the appearance nearby structures in the Historic Core, is a departure from the developer's signature Italian Renaissance-themed apartment buildings.
