A presentation given to the West Hollywood Planning Commission's Design Review Subcommittee previews plans for Element, a proposed townhouse development at 917-927 N. Hilldale Avenue.
The project, a development from Culver City-based ANR Signature Collection, would consist of nine two-story townhomes centered on a common driveway. Each of the two-story buildings would feature two bedrooms, rooftop decks, and basement parking. Most floor plans would range between 1,700 and 1,800 square feet, though two of the townhomes would be as large as 2,300 square feet.
Designed by Workplays Studio Architecture, Element is designed with exterior finishes that include concrete, stone tile, wood, and cement plaster.
In a memo to the Design Review Subcommittee, architect Gwynne Pugh described the project as featuring "well-crafted design," and stated that it would be "an asset to the neighborhood and the city [of West Hollywood] as a whole."
The project site, currently improved with a handful of small residential buildings, is located just south of Sunset Boulevard, where the iconic Viper Room is slated to be redeveloped and incorporated into a 15-story hotel complex.
