Just east of Sawtelle Boulevard, construction is underway for an infill housing development at a property that was most recently improved with a single-family home.
The project site, located at 11272 W. Nebraska Avenue, is being developed with a six-story edifice that will feature 24 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments - including three that will be set aside as affordable housing - above a two-level, 15-car basement parking garage.
Warren Techentin Architecture is designing the building, which will feature "singled" and "misstacked" units tht provide views of the Santa Monica Mountains. Architectural plans show that the project will include two outdoor decks located at the sixth floor and the roof level.
The apartments are being developed by Darius Khakshouri, a local investor who recently filed plans to build a similar project near Expo/Sepulveda Station.
Recent years have seen several similar developments rise along Sawtelle Boulevard, including a mixed-use project now taking shape at the site of a former YMCA at LaGrange Avenue.
