A vacant single-family home in Watts could make way for a permanent supportive housing development, according to plans filed earlier this month with the City of Los Angeles.
The project, called Watts Works, is a joint venture between Decro Corporation, Daylight Community Development, and The People Concern. Plans call for the construction of a four-story building at 9502 S. Compton Avenue featuring 25 apartments - including 24 to be priced for very low-income households.
Requested entitlements for the project include streamlined approvals in according with AB 2162, as well as density bonus incentives to allow reduced setbacks and open space.
Watts Works would include on-site supportive services for residents, including counseling, community-based healthcare, treatment, and employment training.

Decro Corp. and Daylight are also partnering on a 40-unit supportive housing development in North Hollywood.
