In early 2020, Brookfield Properties is scheduled to complete its $60-million renovation of the former Wells Fargo Center Atrium, which will reopen as a food hall known as Halo. With an opening date now just months away, we are finally getting an idea of who will occupy the restored space.
In a noticed distributed earlier this week, Brookfield announced five new tenants at Halo, which occupies a mid-block site along Grand Avenue to the north of 4th Street. They include:
- Danny Boy's Famous Original Pizzeria - founded by chef Daniel Holzman;
- Green Thing - an Asian restauranted started by Chef Darren Sayphraraj;
- Trejo's Tacos and Trejo's Coffee & DOnuts - the latest location of the chains founded by actor Danny Trejo; and
- Shake Shack - the second Downtown outpost for the New York chain.
Additionally, the existing Nick + Stef's Steakhouse will remain as part of Halo upon completion.
In Playa Vista, Nike has leased the top two floors of the 160,000-square-foot WE3 development - now under construction near the intersection of Lincoln and Jefferson Boulevards.
Nike had previously been in talks to occupy a new office complex in the Hayden Tract before signing a lease with WE3 developer Rockwood Capital.
Rising Realty Partners has signed river cruise line AmaWaterways to a 50,000-square-foot lease at The Park Calabasas. The new office will serve as the company's heaquarters.
The Park Calabasas, featuring 225,000 square feet of offices on a 20-acre campus, was acquired by Rising in 2013.
The property recently added Great American Insurance Group to its tenant roster.
In Jefferson Park, Red Bay Coffee Roasters has announced plans to open its first Los Angeles-area location in Spring 2020. Plans call for an 11,000-square-foot cafe and roastery at 3001 W. Jefferson Boulevard - an Art Deco structure dating to the 1930s.
