The wood-and-concrete frame of a mixed-use building is complete just east of Hollywood and Highland.
The project, located on a parking lot at 1718 N. Las Palmas Avenue, consists of a six-story structure featuring 224 studio, one-, and two-bedroom dwellings - including 24 very low-income affordable units - with 1,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and basement parking.
Withee Malcolm Architects is designing the apartment complex, which is show in a rendering as a contemporary low-rise structure.
The property was originally entitled for construction by Champion Real Estate Company, which later sold the site to Jamison Services, Inc.
Completion is anticipated in March 2020, according to a project website.
The project site is located just two blocks south of Highland Avenue, where developer Jeff Greene is in the midst of construction on a similar 118-unit apartment complex.
Just south across Hollywood Boulevard, a modular mixed-use housing development is slated for a narrow parking lot at the corner of Las Palmas and Selma Avenue.
This is the first Hollywood development for Jamison Services, Inc., which is one of the largest office and residential landlords in Koreatown.
