After two years of construction and a nearly-finished facade, the 3.5-acre Academy on Vine development is beginning to resemble its conceptual renderings.
Kilroy Realty Corp. is behind the $450-million mixed-use campus, which sits on a full city block bordered by Vine Street, De Longpre, Ivar and Homewood Avenues in Hollywood. The project consists of three low-rise buildings containing over 350,000 square feet of office space - all of which was leased by Netflix in 2018. Additionally, the site features a 20-story residential tower with 193 units, a 16,500-square-foot studio and production building, and 13,000 square feet of retail space.
The contemporary-style project was designed by local architecture studio Shimoda Design Group. A pedestrian paseo - with design work by Stephen Billings Landscape Architecture - will cut through the property from east-to-west, providing public access from Ivar Avenue to Vine Street.
The Academy on Vine is anticipated to open in mid-2020.
Two neighboring developments on Cahuenga Boulevard are also nearing completion: The Rise Hollywood, a 369-unit residential building, and the new 220-key Godfrey Hotel.
