The $300-million Ivy Station development made waves earlier this year when HBO announced that it would relocate its West Coast headquarters to a 250,000-square-foot office building now under construction as part of the mixed-use complex.  Now, developers Lowe and AECOM-Canyon Partners are filling in the project's 50,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

The first tenants at the property will include:

  • Equator Coffees - opening a 1,400-square-foot space with outdoor seating that will be the Marin County-based company's first outpost in Southern California;
  • LA Ale Works - will operate an 1,800-square-foot tasting room, it's second location following its initial space in Hawthorne;
  • Mamoun's - the New York-based falafel restaurant will occupy 1,700 square feet of space;
  • Stretch Labs - opening a 1,000-square-foot studio;
  • YogaSix - opening a 1,600-square-foot studio; and
  • Healthy Spot - a 2,000-square-foot pet food store.

“These are the first retail leases at Ivy Station and indicative of the retail direction, which is to provide a collection of food, fitness and fun experiences,” noted Tom Wulf, executive vice president, Lowe in a news release. “We are in discussions with other equally dynamic businesses and will have additional announcements in the near future.”

Zachary Card, Erik Krasney, and Brent Howell of CBRE represented Ivy Station.

The mixed-use project spans a roughly five-acre site wrapped by Culver City Station and National, Washington, and Venice Boulevards.  In addition to office space and retail, plans call for 200 apartments, a park-like central courtyard, and a 148-room Hyatt hotel called "The Shay."

CIM Group announced earlier this week that it has signed a long-term lease with the Los Angeles office of financial consulting firm Anderson to occupy a 46,000-square-foot at CityNational2Cal in Downtown Los Angeles.

The 52-story building, known for its curving blue glass facade, is located at 350 S. Grand Avenue.  It contains 1.37 million square feet of office space and 44,000 square feet of retail.

CIM Group, along with partners Rising Realty and the owners of the Omni Hotel, are currently in the midst of renovating the California Plaza Watercourt with new greenery.

CityNational2Cal, originally known as Two California Plaza, was renamed after City National Bank agreed to lease 300,000 square feet of office space at the building - thereby becoming its anchor tenant.
