A pair of century-old single-family homes in Koreatown could make way for a multifamily residential development, according to architectural plans posted by the Wilshire Center Koreatown Neighborhood Council.
The property, located at 408-414 S. Oxford Avenue, is slated for the construction of a six-story building featuring 40 residential units - including four to be reserved for extremely low-income households - above a two-level, partially subterranean parking garage.
The proposed development would provide parking for 87 vehicles - 67 more than required for the property.
KSK Design, Inc. is the project's architect. An elevation plan shows a contemporary low-rise structure.
City records list the property owner and applicant as Shaolong Tian through an entity called 408 Oxford, LLC.
A block south at the intersection of 5th Street and Oxford Avenue, construction began one year ago for a larger seven-story, 89-unit condominium complex.
One block west at the intersection of 4th Street and Western Avenue, a six-story, 73-unit apartment complex with ground-floor retail is slated to rise from a currently vacant lot.
