Architectural plans posted by the South Robertson Neighborhood Council offer a first look at a multifamily residential development planned near Metro's Palms Station.
In October 2019, Los Angeles-based developer Oakmont Capital submitted an application to the Planning Department seeking approvals for the development of a new apartment building at the intersection of National Boulevard and Canfield Avenue. The proposed project, which would replace a three single-family homes and a triplex, would consist of a six-story edifice containing 50 three-bedroom apartments - including five reserved for extremely low-income households - and ground-level parking for 25 vehicles. All of the apartments would be subject to the City of Los Angeles' Rent Stabilization Ordinance.
Reed Architectural Group is designing the 3301 Canfield Avenue development, which would consist of five levels of wood-frame construction above a concrete podium. Floor plans show that the building would include multiple outdoor decks, as well as a gym.
According to a fact sheet included with material presented to the neighborhood council, the proposed development is intended to include ride share cars for use by tenants, and residents are to be offered transit passes.
Oakmont is developing several mixed-use and multifamily residential buildings in the Palms neighborhood, including a cluster of seven- and eight-story structures slated for Overland Avenue.
