Construction is underway for a new development of gated townhomes in Gardena.

The project, called Stoneview, is being developed by KB Home.  Plans call for 63 dwellings in multiple low-rise structures, replacing a parking lot near the intersection of Rosecrans and Vermont Avenues.

Current work at the property consists of a three-story edifice along Vermont.

Los Angeles-based KB Home, one a member of the Fortune 500, recently developed a similar townhome project near the intersection of Rosecrans and Normandie Avenue.  It is also building housing in the neighboring community of Athens.

Another developer, G3 Urban, completed 56 townhomes and live/work homes last year at Van Ness Avenue.
