One year after our last update, the wrapping is off at 11671-11677 W. National Boulevard, revealing the facade of a rare mixed-use development in Mar Vista.
The project, which abuts the Colonial Corners at National and Barrington Avenue, consists of a four-story building that will feature 48 apartments above ground-floor retail and two levels of basement parking.
According to a leasing website, the development - which is called Vantage Mar Vista - will offer a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans.
Reed Architectural Group is designing the project, which is clad in materials including stucco, metal, and brick. A rendering shows that the building will include a rooftop deck, as well as juliet balconies on exterior-facing apartments.
Property records list the owner of the development site as Mario Garonzi.
The project, which began construction in early 2018, was opposed by the Mar Vista Community Council, which felt that the developer had not conducted sufficient public outreach prior to beginning construction.
Elsewhere in Mar Vista, a similar mixed-use project featuring housing and commercial space was approved last year at the intersection of Palms Boulevard and Centinela Avenue.
