Eight months after breaking ground in South Los Angeles, a $25-million supportive housing development is nearing its peak at 76th Street and Vermont Avenue.
The project, called the Pointe on Vermont, is a joint venture between EAH Housing and A2Z Enterprises. Plans call for a four-story edifice featuring 49 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments above 2,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and parking for 26 vehicles.
The property will cater to households earning at or below 60 percent of the area median income, according to a staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee. Rents will start at $509 per month for a studio apartment and range as high as $1,091 per month for a one-bedroom unit.
FSY Architects is designing the contemporary low-rise structure, which is on pace to open in 2021.
EAH is developing several other affordable housing developments in the Los Angeles area, including a project which recently broke ground in Santa Monica.
The Pointe on Vermont is located a short distance north of a similar supportive housing complex at 88th Street and Vermont Avenue. That project is the first Measure HHH-funded development to open.
