RBM of California, the developer behind the project at 12th Street and La Brea Avenue, has received approvals from the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety for the construction of a seven-story, 67-unit apartment complex with a ground-floor cafe and basement parking.  Some of the residential units would be set aside for lower-income renters in exchange for development incentives via the Transit Oriented Communities guidelines.

A rendering of the building depicts a Mediterranean-style structure capped by a rooftop amenity deck.

According to a project website, plans call for a combination of one- and two-bedroom floor plans featuring walk-in closets and in-unit washer-dryer sets.  Building amenities would consist of a swimming pool, a fitness center, and a recreation room.

RBM of California, a subsidiary of the Japanese developer Residence Building Management Co., has built similar mixed-use projects in the Pico-Robertson and Palms communities.

A similar mixed-use development from Wiseman Residential is also under construction three blocks north at 9th Street and La Brea Avenue.
