Nine months after we last dropped by, a six-story housing development is fully framed just east of Sawtelle Boulevard.
The project, which replaced a single-family home at 11272 W. Nebraska Avenue, will consist of 24 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments above 15 parking stalls on two basement levels.
By setting aside three apartments as below market-rate housing, the project employs Transit Oriented Communities incentives to achieve greater density, building area, and height than would normally be allowed by zoning rules.
The contemporary podium-type building, designed by Warren Techentin Architecture, will include outdoor decks as the sixth floor and roof level.
City records list the developer of the apartment complex as Darius Khakshouri, who is planning a similar project near Metro's Expo/Sepulveda Station.
A larger 48-unit housing development is also under construction a block north along Sawtelle Boulevard.
