The wood-and-concrete frame of the Pacific-Pine development, a mixed-use complex from Holland Partner Group, is nearing its apex in Downtown Long Beach.
The project - which spans between Pacific Boulevard and Pine Street to the south of 7th Street - consists of two eight-story structures which will contain 271 apartments above ground-floor retail space and parking.
Plans call for a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom dwellings - ranging from 499 to 1,423 square feet - with 11 reserved for moderate-income households.
The podium-type buildings are designed by architecture firm MVE + Partners. Renderings depict two contemporary mid-rise structures which use setbacks and courtyard spaces to provide amenity decks for residents.
Completion of construction is anticipated in 2021.
Holland Partner Group, headquartered in Washington State, is a prolific builder of multifamily housing in the Los Angeles area. In addition to the Pacific-Pine development, the firm has two similar mixed-use projects in the works for San Pedro, and recently announced plans to build apartments and retail at the site of Echo Park's Taix restaurant.
