A mid-century duplex in Koreatown could make way for a larger multifamily housing project, according to an application recently filed with the City of Los Angeles.
The property, located at 925 S. Manhattan Place, is slated for the construction of a six-story building featuring 33 apartments above a 24-car semi-subterranean parking garage.
The project would set aside four apartments as deed-restricted affordable housing in exchange for Transit Oriented Communities incentives permitting greater density and floor area than would otherwise be allowed by the property's zoning.
JPark Architects is designing the podium-type building, which would be highlighted by an exposed staircase framed with panels of blue, red, and teal. Renderings also show that the project would include a rooftop amenity deck.
City records list the project's owner and developer as the Koreatown-based entity KND Property, which is also working with JPark Architects on a nearly identical apartment complex one block north at 852 S. Manhattan Place.
