A 1920s single-family dwelling in Hollywood's Spaulding Square neighborhood could make way for a new development of townhome-style apartments.
The project, which is being developed by local real estate investment firm Metros Capital, is slated for a property located at 1351 N. Stanley Avenue. Plans call for razing the existing building to make way for the construction of a new building containing four residential units.
LOHA is designing the proposed development, which would be built with prefabricated modular units stacked three stories in height. The units would be arranged in an offset manner to provide balconies for residents, with a common driveway and atrium separating the eastern and western wings of the building.
Construction of the 1351 Stanley development is scheduled to occur over a roughly 3-to-5 month period. Groundbreaking is expected in the first quarter of 2021, according to a representative of Metros Capital.
The development site is located four blocks east of Fairfax Avenue, where a new development of small lot homes opened earlier this year.
Two blocks north on Sunset Boulevard, a pair of mixed-use apartment complexes is slated to replace commercial buildings at Gardener Street.
Metros Capital and LOHA have worked on several other projects, including a proposed 11-story apartment building in Hancock Park.
