After more than two years of construction, the frame of Äto, a new condominium complex from ETCO Homes, is showing signs of progress in Little Tokyo.
Located across the street from the Weller Court shopping mall, the nine-story building will feature 77 one- and two-bedroom dwellings above ground-floor retail space and subterranean parking.
Bucilla Group Architecture designed the mid-rise building, which will stand approximately 120 feet in height. Plans call for a rooftop amenity deck featuring a swimming pool, a gym, and a barbeque area.
Completion is expected in late 2021.
The project follows a recent slate of rental developments which opened just south along 2nd Street between San Pedro and Main Streets over the past five years.
