The first, which is being developed as a joint venture between developers Luminor Properties and Hillock Land Company, replaced a series of small residential buildings at 4804-4810 Oakwood Avenue.  Approved plans call for the construction of a four-story building featuring 30 apartments a semi-subterranean parking garage.

The project, which was designed in according with the Transit Oriented Communities guidelines, will set aside a portion of its apartments as deed-restricted affordable housing.

Sandra J Baik Architects designed the wood-frame apartment complex, which is slated to be clad in metal panels.

The Oakwood apartment building is the third in a series of joint ventures between Luminor and Hillock, following mixed-use developments now rising in Valley Village and North Hollywood.

One block north, Beverly Hills-based developer Markwood Enterprises is in the end stages of construction at a smaller apartment building at 4807 Elmwood Avenue.

The four-story building, designed by OfficeUntitled, will include 13 apartments in studio, one-, and two-bedroom layouts.  One residential unit will be set aside as affordable housing.

Markwood is also planning similar multifamily developments in the Fairfax and Sawtelle neighborhoods.
