Just north of Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, rebar cages now protrude above ground at the future site of Inspire Hollywood, a mixed-use apartment complex from the Bond Companies.
The project, which broke ground in early 2020 at 1522-1538 S. Cassil Avenue, calls for the construction an eight-story building featuring 200 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments above approximately 1,100 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and three-level, 230-car subterranean parking garage.
The Bond Companies will set aside 20 apartments as deed-restricted affordable housing, allowing the developer to access Transit Oriented Communities housing incentives that permit relief from certain zoning limits on height, floor area, and density.
DE Architects is designing Inspire Hollywood, which is depicted in a rendering as a contemporary podium-type building, with tiered roof lines that match the scale of adjoining structures and create a series of terrace decks. Plans call for an outdoor swimming pool at the project's fourth floor.
At the time on Inspire Hollywood's groundbreaking one year ago, it was reported that completion of construction was expected sometime in 2021.
The development site one block east of the historic Crossroads of the World complex, which is poised to become the centerpiece of a $1-billion mixed-use complex featuring a hotel, housing, offices, and retail. A few blocks northeast, Relevant Group is developing a new hotel district centered on the intersection of Selma and Wilcox Avenues.
The Bond Companies, which has offices in both Los Angeles and Chicago, is also in the midst of construction on a 47-unit apartment complex near Downtown and is planning a 90-unit development near Echo Park.
