In Los Feliz, the wood and concrete frame of Chandler Partners' Hollyhill apartment complex is now completed.
The mixed-use project, located at 4531 Hollywood Boulevard, consists of a five-story structure which will feature 202 apartments, 14,725 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a 372-car garage.
VTBS Architects is designing the contemporary podium-type apartment complex, which will include a mix of studio-, one-, two-, and three-bedroom dwellings, in addition to on-site amenities such as courtyards and rooftop decks.
The project, according to a leasing brochure for the property's ground-floor commercial space, is on pace for completion in the third quarter of 2021.
Hollyhill, which is named as a portmanteau of its cross streets Hollywood Boulevard and Hillhurst Avenue, is one of a handful of mixed-use and multifamily residential developments slated for the surrounding neighborhood. A few blocks south along Sunset Boulevard, developer Frost/Chaddock has long harbored plans for a three-building development called Junction Gateway. Plans call for a mix of housing and commercial space - and until recently, a boutique hotel.
A block east near Barnsdall Park, developer Carmel Partners has proposed the construction of an eight-story, 154-unit apartment building on Maubert Avenue.
Hollyhill's Burbank-based developer, Chandler Partners, has built a slew of similar developments across Los Angeles County, including a mixed-use apartment complex now under construction in Downtown Burbank.
