The Harland, a new housing development in West Hollywood originally planned as for-sale condominiums, has instead opened as luxury rentals.
The project, built by West Hollywood-based real estate firm Faring, is located a block north of Santa Monica Boulevard at 702 N. Doheny Drive. The four-story building includes 37 one-, two-, and three-bedroom condominiums, including penthouse units and townhome-style units.
Rents at the property will start at $14,000 per month, according to a representative of the property's leasing team.
OfficeUntitled and Marmol Radziner designed The Harland, which includes elements of Mid-Century Modern design, and incorporates large open spaces including a rooftop deck and a central courtyard. On its interior, the property includes splashy amenities such as a bowling alley, a private screening room, an entertainment lounge, a fitness center, and an exhibition kitchen.
While the building was originally poised to open as for-sale units, with Douglas Elliman tapped to lead the effort, The Harland instead hit the market in March as a rental property.
It joins several new developments on the border between West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, including another luxury housing complex from GPI Companies now under construction at 9001 Santa Monica Boulevard.
A block south of The Harland, a large empty lot is poised for the construction of The Melrose Triangle, a proposed mixed-use complex consisting of offices, housing, and street-fronting shops and restaurants.
Faring, the developer of The Harland, is planning a handful of other large landmark projects in West Hollywood, including the Robertson Lane hotel and a new office complex adjacent to the historic French Market.
