In Koreatown, two multifamily residential developments from CGI Strategies are now fully-framed on back-to-back properties just south of 8th Street.
The projects, located on adjacent sites at 837 S. Fedora Street and 840 S. Mariposa Avenue, consist of two seven-story buildings that will contain a combined total of 182 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments - roughly 10 percent of which will be set aside as deed-restricted affordable housing - above basement parking for 173 vehicles.
KFA Architecture designed both buildings, which are depicted in renderings portray the Fedora and Mariposa Street as contemporary low-rise structures clad in brick, metal panels, and plaster. The apartments will come with on-site amenities including fitness rooms, courtyards, and rooftop decks.
Both the Fedora and Mariposa buildings are on pace for completion in mid-2022.
The two apartment complexes are collectively the third Koreatown development CGI Strategies, following the Mariposa - a 121-unit apartment complex with retail at 3rd Street and Mariposa Avenue - and Kodo - a 60-unit building which was sold last year for $30 million.
The Woodland Hills-based developer is also planning a hotel and residential complex just north of the under-construction Wilshire/La Brea subway station.
