Six months after we last checked in, vertical construction is complete at 9200 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills, with the $464-million project's glass exterior now starting to take shape.
The project, a joint venture between SHVO, Bilgili Group, and Deutsche Finance, replaced a surface parking lot with a seven-story edifice featuring 54 condominiums above 6,650 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a subterranean parking garage.
Designed by MVE + Partners, the mid-rise building is to be clad in materials including limestone, travertine, and white painted steel, in addition to glass. The building has a U-shaped footprint, wrapping a street-level courtyard facing Wilshire Boulevard, which will be landscaped for use by residents. Architectural plans also show a pair of rooftop amenity decks.
At the time of the project's groundbreaking in late 2019, completion was anticipated by Fall 2021.
SHVO and its joint ventures partners acquired the 9200 Wilshire site in May 2019 for $130 million, not long after it was entitled for development. The company secured $190 million in construction financing for the project later that year.
The project site sits midway between Wilshire's intersections with La Cienega and Beverly Boulevards - where two subway stations are now under construction as part of the Purple Line extension - and a short distance west of the future sites of two office buildings that are being developed by Skanska.
