Wood framing starts to take shape at mixed-use project in San Gabriel

In San Gabriel, wood framing is starting to rise for "The One," a mixed-use development at the northeast corner of Valley Boulevard and Del Mar Avenue.

The project, which replaced a small commercial building and an attached parking lot, will eventually consist of a five-story edifice featuring 81 homes above 15,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and basement parking.

A rendering of the project, posted to LoopNet, depicts the finished product as a contemporary podium-type building with inset balconies and supergraphics on its exterior.

Completion is on pace to occur in 2022, according to the project's leasing profile on LoopNet.

The project is among a handful of new developments taking shape along San Gabriel's stretch of Valley Boulevard, including a larger mixed-use project across Del Mar Avenue consisting of a 222-key Hyatt Place hotel and 87 condominiums.  Also under construction to the West at 400 W. Valley Boulevard is a five-story, 127-unit apartment building from Chateau Group USA.
