A month after clearing a 2.3-acre site in the Marina Arts District, California Landmark Group has made it official - construction is underway for the $100-million office and residential development known as G8.

Located on a T-shaped proeprty fronting Beach, Glencoe and Del Rey Avenues, the project will feature 230 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments between 550 and 1,500 square feet.  Plans also call for 15,000 square feet of common space amenities, such as a pocket park, multiple courtyards and swimming pool, a fitness center, and a rooftop deck.

Approximately 25,000 square feet of office space is also included within the project.

Rios Clementi Hale and PK Architecture are designing the mid-rise complex, which is broken into six distinct buildings of varying heights to reduce its massing.

G8 is the seventh and largest of CLG's developments in the Marina Arts District, with a targeted completion date of 2019.  The company is also building the $30-million D1 project one block south.
