A portion of a shuttered school campus in Baldwin Park is set for redevelopment with housing.
The project from Storm Properties, planned for the former Florence Flanner School campus at 1314 N. Leborgne Street, is currently in the environmental review stage. Plans call for the construction of 20 new buildings containing 104 townhomes, each with a private two-car garage. Other project components would include a private park, a dog park, and guest parking.
Angeleno Associates is designing the project, named Basset Village for the school district which owns the site. Plans call for Mediterranean-revival style buildings containing a mix of two- and three-story floor plans.
Pending approvals, including a zone change, a general plan amendment, and other city-level entitlements, the project is set to be built over a 19-month period between November 2026 and June 2028.
Storm Properties previously entitled a similar project for development in the unincorporated community of Athens, which was later sold to KB Home for development.
