One block west of bustling Brand Boulevard in Downtown Glendale, construction is underway on a new Hyatt Place hotel.
The project at Central and Wilson Avenues, which is a joint venture between Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Liberty Hotel Investments, will consist of an 11-story building featuring 173 guest rooms, a parking garage, and on-site amenities such as meeting rooms, garden decks, a fitness center and a swimming pool.
LK Architecture, a Wichita, Kansas-based firm, is designing the mid-rise development. Renderings of the completed Hyatt Place portray a contemporary building, with a slight setback from the street to accommodate a porte-cochère and public art.
Downtown Glendale is currently awash in new construction, with a vast array of mid-rise apartment buildings rapidly reshaping city blocks along and around Brand Boulevard.
A short walk north on Central Avenue, developer Century West Partners is building one of the largest multi-family complexes in Southern California.
