Another LAX-adjacent hotel may be on the way in El Segundo.
The latest project, which would rise at the northwest corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Palm Avenue, calls for demolishing a vacant restaurant and parking lot to make way for the construction of a 55,000-square-foot boutique hotel. Plans call for a four-story building which would contain 116 guest rooms, a restaurant, a fitness center, and parking for 93 vehicles at-grade and on a subterranean level.
AXIS/GFA Architecture + Design is designing the project at 707 PCH, which is called Segundo House.
Construction of the hotel would occur over approximately seven months, according to a proposed mitigated negative declaration, pending the approval of a zoning code amendment by the City of El Segundo.
The project applicant - an entity called Segundo Restaurant Partnership, LP - is connected to the Santa Monica businessman J. Anthony Kouba, who operates several food and beverage venues in the era.
El Segundo has recently seen the arrival of several new hotels, including an AC Hotel now under construction at 2130 Maple Avenue, a Hampton Inn & Suites on PCH, and a Cambria Hotle on El Segundo Boulevard.
