The parking lot of the Westwood Presbyterian Church could make way for a mid-rise development, according to plans submitted yesterday to the City of Los Angeles.

The property, located at 10822 Wilshire Boulevard, is slated for the construction of a 12-story eldercare facility featuring 176 residential units, as well as a new church fellowship hall and a new facility and administrative building for the church's preschool.

Additional details regarding the project are currently unclear.

Other towers in the works for Westwood include a proposed 29-story residential development at Gayley Avenue and a 17-story student housing building at the UCLA campus.

The development site is located just two blocks east of the intersection of Wilshire and Westwood Boulevard, future site of a station on Metro's Purple Line extension.
