A public park will open at the confluence of the Los Angeles River and Caballero Creek will open in late 2019, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

The 1.6-acre site, located off of Lindley Avenue between Victory Boulevard and Erwin Street, is being built in partnership by the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority, the Department of Recreation and Parks, the Bureau of Sanitation, the General Services Division, and the County of Los Angeles.

A schematic plan posted to the MRCA website shows a grassy expanse containing a picnic area, a granite jogging path, and wetlands making use of river water.

The Daily News reports that Reseda High School, which is located across the street, will use the park's wetlands for biology classes.
