Next week, the Central Area Planning Commission will consider an appeal against a proposal to raze a Hollywood duplex and construct a new small lot subdivision in its place.
The project, slated for a 26,700-square-foot lot at 6517-6533 W. Lexington Avenue, would include 18 small lot homes, each featuring three-to-four bedrooms, a two-car parking garage and rooftop decks.
Architect Farzin Maly is designing the proposed houses, which would be laid out in an H-shape across the rectangular project site.
An entity known as Save Old Hollywood has appealed the project's approvals, alleging incompatibility with the surrounding neighborhood. The Planning Department's staff report recommends that the appeal should be denied.
